About Oregon Commercial Lighting
Andy Laird founded Oregon Commercial Lighting (formerly Laird Lighting) in 1995 after almost 15 years working in the lighting and electric industry. The business has grown in to the premier lighting and maintenance company in our area with a reputation for honesty, integrity, and cost-savings to small, medium, and large businesses alike.
OCL is a member of Lane Leaders and Oregon Commercial Lighting is a member of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce.
Chris started his path at Oregon State University studying Electrical Engineering in 2011. Three years of crunching numbers later he realized that sitting at a desk for the rest of his life was not the dream he once thought it was. Upon leaving school, he started working at Jerry’s Home Improvement Center in the Lumbers Sales department in 2014. His knowledge quickly rose him up the ranks into the Electrical department and in turn, managing it. After a year and a half of helping contractors and building owners solve their electrical problems he decided it was time to take the apron off and get his hands dirty so he joined the team over at Laird Lighting. 6 years of hard work later the father/son duo realized they had the experience and confidence required to take the passing torch from Andy and continue the legacy of OCL.
Todd started his career in the construction industry at Wildish in 1990 before eventually moving on to Delta Sand and Gravel. Looking for a more engaging challenge, Todd transitioned into the electrical field in 2012. Two years later he joined Laird Lighting and quickly fell in love with the work and industry as a whole. Todd’s construction experience and passion for solving problems was an integral part in growing OCL into what it is today.
Andy began his career working for Westinghouse Electric Supply Corporation in Medford, Oregon, in 1981 as an inside counter sales representative to contractors and building owners selling lighting and electric supplies. From there, Pacific Power and Light hired Andy as an Energy Auditor and he was there for several years before returning to outside sales and maintenance for local commercial lighting companies. Andy worked in the field until 1995 when he decided to open his own shop.
Community service and giving back are very important to Andy and Oregon Commercial Lighting. Andy has been a Rotarian for over 15 years and served on the board of the Southtowne Rotary Chapter. He has been a board member and vocal advocate of the Great Rotary Raffle, running the chapter’s participation for over 10 years.
